Hello,
My husband and I are planning on a trip to Uzbekistan in the first week of September. We live in the US and have been trying to contact the Uzbekistan embassy in Washington DC. Unfortunately, we have been unable to reach the embassy by phone or email (they do not seem to be picking up calls or answering emails). My husband is an Indian national and I am a US citizen and so we had the following queries:
1. Can we mail our documents and passport to get the visa stamped or do we need to visit the embassy in person?
2. Does anyone have any experience interacting with the Uzbekistan embassy in DC? We wanted to know if the visa processing takes long if the documents are sent by post.
Thanks a lot!
Suman

Re: Getting an Uzbekistan visa in the US
Hi Suman,
as asked in the forum rules (the red box above), first please look at the Uzbek visa page: http://caravanistan.com/visa/uzbekistan/
There, under embassy reports, you will find experiences of people interacting with the Uzbek embassy in Washington and the consulate in New York, carefully collected so people would not have to ask again. There are also links to specific forum topics concerning these embassies - you can ask more questions and tell of your own experiences there.
Thank you.
