Embassy reports: Kyrgyzstan visa in Delhi

Postby adityarao310 » Thu Jun 15, 2017 5:38 pm

Hi

So we just went through a very confusing and harrowing process of getting a visa (no its not on arrival for us!). Don't know how many Indians visit the country, but if they do, I hope they read this! The Indian passport sucks; it has no power!

Some notes to remove your confusion
You CAN NOT walk into the Kyrgyz embassy at Delhi and apply yourself, must go through a certified agent
The embassy is HORRIBLE, they will hardly ever pick up your phone
Tour operators in Kyrgyzstan will give you diff versions, all of them planned to con you out of money (e.g. double entry visa is not possible you have to apply for two single entry, and they can do it for you etc.)
You do NOT need an LOI from a Kyrgyz tour operator
A trusted agent in India is Lark Logistic (contact Sachin Dhok @ 9819518961) who will do LOI and Double Entry visa for 44$ (they claim to be only authorised operator to do this, not sure if true)
You can only apply for the visa 2 weeks in advance of going
The whole process takes 3-5 working days
If you need to apply early (in case the dates are tight); you must prove that you need your passport around those dates because you are traveling internationally to another country near those dates; and hence you are applying for Kyrgyz visa early

It took us almost 2 weeks to figure all this out, the bureaucracy on both the sides is mind-numbing.
Cheers and good luck :D

Thanks adityarao310,

we do not get many Kyrgyz reports anymore since the visa-free thing. So sorry to hear it is still the same mess. Hope Kyrgyzstan the country treats you better than Kyrgyzstan the embassy!

But when you say: you do not need LOI from Kyrgyz tour operator - later you say - we got a LOI from Indian tour operator. Be aware that the Indian tour operator simply bought the LOI from the Kyrgyz tour operator. Indian tour operators cannot source LOIs themselves, only Kyrgyz can do it for them.

Hi Steven

Yeah looks like my post was a bit confusing. So basically, what happened was:

We didnt have to source an LOI, and the agent must have done it from his side. They do run a logistics business between India <> Kyrgyzstan so either they did it through a contact themselves, or maybe through their own Bishkek office!

PS
Do put this in your main blog posts, I got 2 private messages after I put this thread! Both from Indians asking me about the process. There are 1.2 billion of us, so even a small % of us going to stan countries is a big number, and all of them are confused about Kyrgyz (Uzbek was easy - though expensive).
