Can anyone confirm that if you’re from a country that has 30 day visa free entry to Kazakhstan, without requiring an invitation letter, you can obtain the visa on entry at a land border? Specifically, at the Russia- Kazakhstan land border (Australian Passport).

The concept of "visa-free" is that you don't need any kind of visa, so also no visa on arrival. You can enter at any international border post open for third nationals.
