The evisa system is in Beta testing as of today (17 July 2018). You can enter all the details and you'll get a registration confirmation message with a code you have to enter to be able to pay. At present the payment part is not working. Assume it will be going fully live in next couple of days. The hotline works but although gives language choice (Uzb, Rus, Eng) the person who answers can only speak Uzb and puts phone down to anything else! My guess is they will send the system live in the next few days but if you have an urgent application or need a multi entry (the evisa is single entry only) I would apply via the old route. I will test whether it is possible to get an evisa and then get another for a re-entry to Uzbekistan and post the results. It will be far easier and cheaper to get 2 evisas than send away for multiple at embassy. let's see.....

But the evisas issued in a beta website IS still legit right? Just that the website isn't perfect right now so they are tweaking it.

Couple more notes, especially for those with visas with wrong information (there are at least two of us):

-if you call the number and the person tells you to call the embassy, call back and get someone else. About half of the operators are saying this to avoid dealing with you, at least where I'm at the embassy doesn't even pick up the phone

-I got a couple of guys (none of the women I've spoken to can speak English) to check with 'specialists' or the IT department or whatever it is who are 'working on it,' and apparently the wrong date problem is being fixed and new visas will be sent out. My visa status is back to 'sent for processing' after having previously been able to download my visa.

That said, unless you are an urgent case I wouldn't even bother calling or dealing with any of this at the moment. For us I hope it's just a case of system error spitting out some erroneous visas and we'll get new ones soon.

Thanks for the update. Its helpful. I wonder if my visa is being delayed while they fix things and make sure the dates are right. Really chomping at the bit here to get moving. You applied on Saturday - when did your visa come through, Uzbek time?

Edit to add: the entire site is now down.

Hi all,

Was attentively reading through all of the posts up to now. My trip to Uzbekistan is already on the 9th of August.

I tried to get a Visa right on the 15th when they took it online, however only got to the "activation link" site, where all the captcha codes where not accepted
I called the hotline the next day, and got ordered to speak to my local embassy (as mentioned here), which of course was not helpful.

Now trying again - weirdly the site does not work on desktop now (first page keeps "loading"), however on mobile it is working, but I am only getting to the Captcha. Question (as maybe this is why my Captcha is not working??): does the ID photo have to be in 35x40 or 35x45 now? And does that measurement also count for the passport image upload (no right)?

Stupid question to ask maybe, but does anyone know if it would make more sense to go through the traditional & expensive way?

Thank you!!

I don't know why your captcha isn't working now but for your other questions, passport photo of your face has to be on pure white background, and 35x40 (I think it says so on the bottom of the "select photo"). Photo of your passport doesn't but include just the page with your picture and info on it.

For a US citizen like myself, it is worth a try with evisa to save $140. You have time, why not give it a 2-3 days and then see if you should try traditional route?

t3nchi...
Thank you very much!
I also read 35x40 on the page, but some people on this forum where quoting 413*532 pixel (which corresponds to 35x45) etc.

Yes - I will wait a bit and then maybe still do an express offline visa (I am German living in Italy)... Stresssss!

I wouldn't stress yet. The website is clearly undergoing constant maintenance, and I imagine they'll have it worked out within a week, if not sooner. Hang in there!

As for pictures, mine was accepted and the background is definitely not white. I ran it through photoshop with the exact specifications on the site, including the dpi.
