Uzbekistan e-visa Q&A

Post by steven »

Please read and post reports and questions on the Uzbekistan e-visa system below.

We summarize all info in the Uzbekistan visa page.

We can provide you with a letter of invitation for Uzbekistan if you need one.

If you prefer someone else to apply for the e-visa for you, we recommend Ivisa's Uzbekistan service.

I was just informed the eVisa will NOT come.
There is no official communication about it and there will be no such communication. Instead, all official previous communications confirming that the eVisa will be introduced are being currently deleted.
Probably some day eVisa will come, but not as soon as we all hoped.

Cheers,
Luca

Good news!
This article refers to a new law which allows citizens of 101 listed countries to enter Uzbekistan for transit (max 120hrs.) without the need of applying for transit visa. It should come into power starting 15th July 2018.

Free 5-days transit visa?

Nice another option for a lowcost Turkmenistan transit (Iran-Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kirgistan or Kazakhstan).

I tried to do the e-visa and it wanted $20 for an American, but then there was an error in payment. Yes I know I didn't listen that it will be available July 15 and that is probably why it didn't work.

This website is helpful for cropping passport photos (the evisa system accepted a passport photo from this website, I think the "visa photos" makes your head too small?): https://www.persofoto.com/upload/passport-photo

Anyone know if this will work at land borders? I wanted to dip into Samarkand from Penjakent. edit: now think I will be arriving from Almaty by train instead.
