Re: Very good news! Uzbekistan introduces a visa-free regime for citizens of another 45 countries from 1 February
Will this mean you could enter Uzbekistan by one land border visa free, then make a small trip to Afghanistan and get back into Uzbekistan visa free a couple of days later?

So.... now I am confused ?!
The uzdaily article mentions that German citizens are 'visa free'.
On the Uzbekistan embassies homepage (Germany/Frankfurt) I cannot find this Information.
My Visa Agent also does not mention this (haven't talked to him, just scanned his homepage).
We (German passport) will arrive at the border (coming from Beyneu) by motorbike.
Simple question: Do we need a visa - or not?
thanks in advance!

So will a UK passport holder be able to visit Uzbekistan with a side visit to Tajikistan and then back to Uzbekistan under the new 30 visa free format?

You don't. This is super new (announced a few days ago) and Uzbek consulates/embassies don't update their webpages that quick.murg wrote:So.... now I am confused ?!

thats cool!
By the way ; if somebody is planning to cross by land from Iran to Uzbekistan via Turkmenistan would be very important before to know if the Turkmenistan embassy in Teheran just noticed this update.
In my case I had planned to apply the turkmen visa in Tehran showing the uzbek visa fixed...so the questions are;
- what about now?
- do we need to show them (turkmen embassy) any special document about the "new Uzbk free visa issue" ?
- do we need to book on advance a first accomodation in anywhere of Uzbk to lend credibility of the desire to get to Uzbk from Iran?
Maybe I sound a bit paranoid (I know) but we are talking about the dificult TURKMENISTAN......
I hope to read personal experiences here as soon as possible!

Before the new visa-free regime there were already other countries who could go visa-free, both to Uzbekistan and Iran. No problem, Turkmenistan understands.CésarDP wrote:thats cool!

Just wondering if anyone who is now eligible for the proposed visa free entry (as of Feb. 1st) has tried it out yet and how it went?

I also looked on several websites and got mixed information. I am a Canadian citizen. Does this mean I can enter and stay in Uzbekistan Visa-free for up to 30 days?

Yes, that is what it means.
The mixed information comes from the fact that some websites are not updated yet. The newest rules start from February, 1, 2019. Anything that was not updated in the past month will be out of date. Check Caravanistan, Wikipedia, perhaps your government's MFA website. They are all up to date.
