Hello,
We are a french family in campervan. We are on silk road.
We are in a group who plan cross china in 25days with official guide and agency, but apparently each family make visa request.
We have turkish stamp and iranian visa on our passports.
We dont want to be block in Ulaanbatar, so for you what is the best option:
A: ask 2 transit visa for russia, to be sure to be able to back from mongolia if chinese visa are refused.
B: ask russian transit visa in Ulaanbatar russian embassy
The point is that we dont want to be block in Mongolia if china refuse our visa request.
Thank you for your help.

Hi,
We suggest that you apply for a double-entry Chinese tourist visa in France, it will be valid for six months. But it seems you already leaved France?
Do you have chance to try applying in the Stan-countries? Don't leave the last chance in Ulaanbaatar.
We don't think you will get refused for china visa in UB because of the stamps you mentioned, as long as your preparation work for china visa is done well enough in UB.
Sorry we don't have experience for russian visa, good luck!

Do it.
Re: Question about Chinese visa and Security question
If you apply in Tashkent they will assume no matter what you say that you are heading into Xinjiang, and that's a real black mark against you when applying for a Chinese visa these days.

So for you best option is UB?

Re: Question about Chinese visa and Security question
I wouldn't pin all my hopes on UB. I'd probably try other places en route. Just telling you don't get your hopes up anywhere, especially with those Turkish and Iranian stamps.
