Hello Everyone,

do you know how can I get a transit visa for Turkmenistan if I don't need visa for Usbekistan?
My wife is from Japan and she doesn't need the visa for Uzbekistan.
Also the EU-Citizen ( I'm German citizen ) don't need the Usbek-Visa from this year.

Best regards

RE Japaneese passport. AFAIK you just apply at the embassy as normal, there will be space on the application form to describe your planned route through Turkmenistan and you can mention where you will exit to uzbekistan and that you do not need a visa. Tell customs upon arrival in Turkmenistan that you do not need a visa for Uzbekistan, they will probably be aware, and give you your visa. We found the border guards easy to talk with in good English and they seem aware of visa situations.

Hope this helps.

Hi there,

I am also planning on visiting both Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan this year, and was wondering where you have found the information that as a EU citizen you do not need a Uzbek visa anymore? I am Dutch and have found no such info.

Would love to hear from you!

Kind regards,

You might in that case want to read Caravanistan uzbek visa page or the wikipedia page.

Hi! We have the LOI letter from the London embassy for entering Turkmenistan on a transit visa and are trying to get the Caspian Sea ferry. Does anybody know if we still need to get a visa stuck in our passport to be allowed to leave by the Azeri border guards or if the letter will be enough?

Thanks!

For visa free nationalities especially British nationals, are they still required to register every three days when moving to different cities? I will be cycling through Uzbekistan and just wanted to confirm this registration thing if its still necessary?

Hello!

We (both Dutch citizens) applied for a 5 day transit visa at the Embassy in Ankara with pick up in Tbilisi.
After 7 and 12 working days we received our LOI.
Since the Tblisi Embassy only operates on Monday and Friday, we decided to collect it in Baku. We even called the Embassy in Ankara to ask if this was all right and they said we could go to any other Embassy.

When we were in Baku to pick up the Visa, the man at the Embassy said we can go to the Turkmenistan border with our LOI only. He said we don't need anything stuck in our Passport, so we were already outside in 2 minutes.
Since we stated in Ankara we would collect our visa, we don't like the idea of just going to the border with only the LOI document..
Did anyone had the same experience? Is it enough to just show the LOI at the border?

The man at the Embassy told us the visa would cost 55 dollar. On the Caravanistan visa page I read the visa would cost between 55 - 73 dollar. Does the price of the visa depend on the mood of the border guard, or does the 5 day transit visa has a fixed price of 55 dollar?

Does anyone know if an appointment is needed for visa pickup in Baku? I was told I would be able to pick up my transit visa there after two weeks when I applied in Moscow but I want given any particular documents to present there.
