Heya
I'm struggling a bit with the extensive and invasive China visa application process and wondering if it is really worth it for me (the plan was to pass from Pakistan into Xinjiang to get to Kyrgyzstan). I'd only be sticking around for a few days to see Kashgar and then heading out again, and I'm aware that it is.. well, pretty weird at the moment, given the current situation.
So as a back up plan, I'm wondering if anybody happens to know of any direct flights in between an Pakistan, and an airport in any of the Central Asian countries?
Thanks
Direct flights between Pak and Central Asia?

According to the lists available on Wikipedia for the main airports of Pakistan:
Somon Air: Islamabad - Dushanbe
Uzbekistan Airways: Lahore - Tashkent
I haven't checked whether this information is correct...

Thanks for that. I've just tried both and no dice unfortunately!

At one point there seemed to be regular charter flights between Bishkek and (I think) Islamabad, often used by Pakistani students in Bishkek.
Since tickets for these kinds of flights aren't sold via the regular channels you might want to contact some travel agents in Pakistan.

Re: Direct flights between Pak and Central Asia?
Did anyone have any luck with finding a direct flight from Central Asia to Pakistan? I know that Somonair definitely fly from Dushanbe to Islamabad twice a week (you just can’t book on their website) but ideally looking for a flight from Almaty, Bishkek or Tashkent.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thanks! I’d seen that but couldn’t find the route on their website. I’ve tried contacting Aero Nomad directly but haven’t had a response. I’ll visit their office when I get to Bishkek and will report back here.
In case it’s helpful for others - if you want to fly from Dushanbe with SomonAir, you have to book in their office in Dushanbe directly (you can’t book online). I was told that the flights do not book up far in advance so you can usually buy a ticket a couple of days before flying.
