Shipping a car from Mongolia to Western Europe

Post by lucafromitaly »

Hello,

this summer I will be driving my car (a Fiat Panda 4x4) from Italy to Mongolia, our expected arrival date to Ulan Bator is 25/8/2023.
I am looking for a way to ship the car from Ulan Bator to Western Europe, preferably Italy. Does anyone have any advice or contacts of shipping companies who do this service?

Thank you

Luca

We’ve been in contact with Loxx Pan Europa. They offered us to ship our motorcycles from Ulan-Bator to Germany. Mr König, our contact there said they also have experience to send cars and vans. Maybe they can help you.

hi one question: when you ship your car back to europe: how do you proceed with the Carnet de Passage?
Who stamps yur carnet in the last country - so you make sure you get your deposit back when you come back home?

thanks!

I shipped my car from Cambodia to Belgium in january: it was in a 20 foot container, which the cambodian customs sealed ofcourse, and they stamped my carnet. Its new for Cambodian customs and they hardly know how to do, i had to explain them a little also. But belgian carnets should also be stamped when the car is back in Belgium by belgian customs as prove the car is back. I missed on the 18-country-trip also a stamp and had a stamp in the wrong place on my carnet, nobody cared, as long as the last page is stamped by the Belgians (look in your carnet, the last page is different and i never saw it before either) !! My 10k caution was payed back the week after !!
