Fuel import in Tajikistan - how much?

Post by steven »

I got mixed messages about the amount of fuel you are allowed to import into Tajikistan. I've heard anywhere from 0 to 100l.

All reports welcome!

wow, i had never problems with importing fuel - usually more than 100l (clearly visible additional tank 80l inside the car plus canisters on the roof).

Actually, I misformulated. The problems seems to lie not on the Tajik side of the border, but on the Kyrgyz side of the border. So better would have been to ask: how much fuel can you export from Kyrgyzstan?

another wow - the only place i had problems exporting fuel was on the russian-ukrainian border (sumy-sudzha), once, in 2012. so i drive back outside the customs and sold the over to the first lorry comming from ukraine (for the good price for both of us). and it was before ukr-rus war in donbas. but those years this checkpoint was almost always empty and customers were really bored...

maybe it is another story with the kazakh plates?
