Hi,
Do you think that it’s possible to drive a Rav4 from Khorog to Karakul via Bartang Valley?
Thanks for your help

I personally would not do it with a Rav4. Better to have a more serious 4x4 rather than a crossover like a Rav4.
Experts may have a different opinion?

certainly you will have big problems at kok jar corner as it requires low gear transmission to drive up the corner.
not mentioning if the water level of the side streams in the central part of the valley is high and shoves the rubble.

How about a 2009 Landcruiser? (Given recent reports road is open again)
And driving wise what is better/easier? From east of from west? With the steepest parts in mind, and to get possible closures/hardest obstacles as early as possible, to have a shorter turnback.
Planning this later when KG/TJ borders reopen.
