Hi,
I am entering Kazakhstan by car, however I can't see anything in your site or in the embassy saying that I have to do any additional paper work for it. Is that right?
Thanks!
Paula
Kazakhstan visa - entry by car
Re: Kazakhstan visa - entry by car
I think you just have to fill in a customs form, that is it.

Re: Kazakhstan visa - entry by car
Hi Paula,
We crossed into Kazakhstan from Russia a few weeks ago by car- we were told to keep the temporary importation/customs form we had filled out when we entered Russia as this would be valid until we exited Kazkhstan (a helpful Russian speaker found this out for us). I don't know about other countries. Aside from that, we just needed to show car registration. We bought insurance from an office just the other side of the border- 4000 Tenge for a month (we have a Toyota Hilux, price dependant on engine size I think). The police checked our insurance quite soon after the border so wise to get asap. Watch for police- go super slow when you see them (they pull us over all the time) talk overly-enthusiastically and cheerfully in English ad they generally just get fed up of you and wave you on (so far!). Hope that helps!
