3 weeks in Uzbekistan but 3 problems!

Post by ameet1983 »

Hi there all

My wife and I are planning a trip to Uzbekistan in October and have developed an itinerary and would be so grateful if you could help in any way with these three questions:

1) we''d love to squeeze an extra night at Naratau mountains - can you see anyway to change the intinery to do this? We can't spend less time in Tashkent at the beginning as the only decent flight to Nukus was on Wednesday and we've already booked this.

2) How does it look overall? Any glaring mistakes?

3) How should be get from Samarkand to Margillan in the Fergana Valley (the only decent way I see is going all the way back to Tashkent)?

Any help would be so appreciated!

13th October - Arrive in Tashkent
14th, 15th - Tashkent
Wednesday 16th - Fly to Nukus (flights booked already)
17th - Nukus
18th & 19th - Aral Sea tour
20th - Travel to Khiva
21st - Khiva
22nd - Travel to Bukhara
23rd & 24th - Bukhara
25th - Travel to (Sentyab) Naratau mountains
26th & 27th - Naratau mountains
28th - Travel to Samarkand
29th - Samarkand
30th - Travel to Fergana Valley (Margillan)
31st & 1st November - Margilan
2nd travel to Tashkent
3rd - Fly home (AM)

1 - I agree, take out a day in Tashkent or in Margilan
2 - Instead of 3 days in Margilan, perhaps think about spending some time in other bits of Ferghana like Kokand, Namangan, Rishton
3 - No other way indeed
