12 Days in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan

Postby Austin » Wed Jun 19, 2019 2:50 am

Hey guys!

I have about 12 days total to spend in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan and wondering what are the absolute must do/sees! My friend and I are on a bit of a budget and are planning to spend a couple days in Bishkek and Almaty. We would like to visit some nice parks, maybe do a hike or two, see the main attractions.

Any recommendations regarding getting around to places cheaply in these countries? From what I have seen so far, they seem to be pretty expensive (the tours, at least).

Any tips? Thanks!!

my recommendations:
- read some caravanistan.com and/or other sites
or:
- earn some more money to hire a guide.

i think this forum is not good place for lazy people waiting for someone to lead them by hand for free.

Did I say I want someone to show me around for free?!

I asked about advice to get around cheaply AND suggestions about things to see and do given my time frame.

This forum isn't a good place for people to reply with snarky comments without bothering to understand what they even read.

Hi Austin,

itś pretty cheap to travel in these places on a budget, just do hitchhiking and couchsurfing, take a tent and hike in nature, you will spend next to nothing.

The Issyk Kul area is a good place to start for hiking.
