Istanbul to Shanghai in February

Postby Rose » Tue Oct 29, 2019 7:50 pm

We have just under 2 months to make the trip overland from Istanbul starting in February. From my research I don’t think it will be too cold. Am I wrong? We’re planning to go from Istanbul to Georgia, then to Baku and then either Turkmenistan or Kazakhstan ( depending on the ferries) and then to Uzbekistan then back to Almaty to get the train to Shanghai with stops en route. We have to be in Shanghai by the end of March but will then have another month to travel round China. Does it all sound feasible?

Sure, it will be fine. Pack something warm, though, you might still have -10 degrees in southern Kazakhstan at this time. And maybe you want to spend some time skiing in Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan.

The rest of your destinations will sort of hover around freezing around this time.
