trip report: awesome month in Tajikistan, Aug 2015

Tajikistan trip report: one month in Tajikistan from 14 July 2015.

Highlights:
10 days walking to various stunningly beautiful villages in the epic Bartang Valley. Tip for the adventurous traveller: get a 4x4 ($200) from Karakul to Ghudara at the top of the Bartang valley and spend two weeks hiking down sleeping in the village homestays on the way. Don't miss Jizev! Light backpack essential.

Wakhan valley: we spent a week walking most of the way from Langer to Ishkashim staying in homestays. Nice but not nearly as amazing as Bartang.

Pamir highway: very scenic.

Dushanbe: most attractive city in Central Asia (we haven't seen Almaty yet). Enjoy chilling with super cheap draught beer in the chaikhana on the lake next to the world's biggest tea house and the chaikhana restaurant in the Ayni Park.

Hi,
Do You know, how far into the Bartang valley can hired 4x4 can drive from the West (Rushan) and from the East (Karakol) ?

1) Was it possible to drive as far as Bartang Village from Rushan?
2) Was it possible to drive as far as Roshov village from Karakol? (Roshof: https://www.google.pl/maps/place/38%C2% ... :0x0?hl=pl)

I am planning a climbing trip in the area and I need to figure out some logistics for our climbing gear.
Thank you

Best regards
Jakub
