Kulma Pass self-drive?

Post by Cheese »

Hello Overlanders,

Did anybody of you took the above mentioned short-cut (self drive camper)?

Any suggestions regarding this route e.g. agencies, pro/cons, experienences?

Or are there better ideas?

I am currently thinking of ways to get from India to Kygrystan after boarders have been re-opened again.

Thank you

Reinhard

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=439 has a lot of reports, but none so far of people with their own car, I believe.

It's a good question if this is allowed.

Hi Reinhard,

Last year we crossed China, Irkeshtam - Pakistan.
Anyway, while we were getting quotes we gave also asked for Qulma pass.
At least one agency ( tibetmoto ) said it is possible.

We haven't chosen Qulma because
- same costs
- same duration

.... And, coming from Whakan / M41, we wanted to ride Ak-Baital anyway.

If there are any details you need to know just drop me a pm

Thanks Dave,
Reasonable arguments for going via Irkeshtam.
I asked Kashgar New Land Inernational Travel and they replied by saying that as a result of all landborder closures they are not able to provide any services at this time ...
