PS: two other problems I forgot to mention:

1) You can only stay a total of 90 days in Turkey within a total of 180 days.
A border run is not possible! (Contrary to Georgia)

You should keep this in mind. Let's say you go to Iran, want to go to Oman and you can't. If you then must go back to Turkey, you must have enough time left. Never stay longer than e.g. 80 days in Turkey if there is a risk that you must re-enter Turkey within the next 3 months after having left....

Question: How long can my vehicle that I have left to the warehouse stay there?

Answer: The vehicles left to the warehouse can stay there for one month since the date of delivery as it is stated in the petition for temporary leaving. In order to extend this time period one may apply to the customs office.

@PeterM Thanks a lot for those super helpful details. I will do some research about the application process for a temporary import of the vehicle to Turkey for the duration of the trip to Central Asia. Good point regarding keeping some extra days in case we have to pass through Turkey again. Will write an update regarding the process for parking a car in Turkey once I find out more. I will probably start by calling the Turkish customs office. Thanks a lot!

Would it be possible to park the car in Iran and then continue the trip to Central Asia by plane in case land borders are still closed/ caspian sea ferry is not operating?

Yes, in theory that should be possible if you entered Iran with a CdP (Carnet de Passage).

The car should only be marked in the CdP - not in the passports.

Years ago, when all border procedures were only stamped into passports/CdP, park a car and leave the country was no problem at all.

However, today, due to computer systems with your border entry data, they might notice hat you entered by car and make problems.
