Overland from Pakistan to iran
Re: Overlaid from Pakistan to iran
Here's a report from Iran to Pakistan overland: https://www.lostwithpurpose.com/report- ... eh-taftan/. The other way around it's basically the same, just reversed. It's not possible to get a visa on arrival at the land border of Iran, and you can only obtain a Pakistani visa in your country of residence. If you have any more questions regarding Pakistan or Iran, feel free to ask

Re: Overlaid from Pakistan to iran
Hi,
I really enjoyed reading you're report! Do you have any tips on obtaining the NOC? I'm planning to travel to Gilgit-Baltistan (a different area I appreciate!) but apparently I need one. It sounds like you were able to get yours quite quickly whilst you were there but do you know if it is possible to get one in advance before I arrive in Pakistan? Did you also have to get one from a specific office in Quetta for the region you were travelling to or is it possible to obtain one from any Ministry of the Interior Office?
Many thanks

You do not need an NOC for GB. This was a scare published by the Ministry of Interior, never implemented and now officially repealed.

What Olmo says, you don't need a NOC for GB. The report I shared goes into getting a NOC in Balochistan. You can only get a NOC for Balochistan in Quetta, as far as I know. The moment you arrive in Quetta you'll be taken care of by police and the people from the hotel can explain more if there's any need.

Re: Overlaid from Pakistan to iran
Hi!!! I was told by tour operstors in March this year that a NOC was required for Gilgit Baltistan area and duly obtained one. I have had and continue to have difficulty in getting my visa but this is not related to the NOC. Just giving my info!!!

True at the time, but the NOC for Gilgit Baltistan is no longer required after strong protest from tour operators.boats.and.bikes wrote:Hi!!! I was told by tour operstors in March this year that a NOC was required for Gilgit Baltistan area and duly obtained one.

Re: Overlaid from Pakistan to iran
This is correct, we travelled through Gilgit Baltistan and Hunza Valley over KKH into China. No need for NOC. If you travel from Naran over Bulbusar pass - no escorts. You are supposed to get a pass for Gilgit Baltistan area from the check point - which they issue staying how long you intend to be in the area. When leaving Pakistan for China they requested it at immigration. But if you don't have one. They then issue you with one.
As for crossing to Iran, friends said as above. Have to wait in Quetar for NOC and the police escorts ( several changes during the process) until you reach Iran border.
