I'm currently in the Caucasus and will most likely be entering Iran from Kurdi Iraq in the next few weeks.
Was hoping to enter from Armenia but it won't be possible if I can't get a multiple entry Iranian visa in Yerevan.
So here's the plan so far.

Shiraz
Bushehr and KUWAIT return?
Yazd
Mashad
into Afghanistan, Taybad-Islam Qala crossing
Herat
Jam?
Bamian?
into Turkmenistan, Tawraghudi-Serkhetabat crossing

into Kazakhstan, Zhibek-Joly crossing
Turkestan
into Kyrgystan, Sypatai Batyr crossing

back into Kazakhstan, Korday or Karasu crossing
Almaty
Kolsai and Kaindy lakes
into Kyrgyzstan, Karkara crossing (closes around 30th Oct)
Son-Kul Lake
Tash-Rabat
Osh
Pamir Highway
into Tajikistan, Kyzylart crossing (need GBAO permit buy online at same time as visa)
Khorog
into Afghanistan, Ishkoshim-Eshkashem crossing (get permit)
Wakhan Corridor (might be too late to go as snow will make roads impassable)
into Tajikistan, same crossing
Pamir highway part 2 to Dushanbe
now what?
If anyone has advice on rejigging the itinerary to make it work smoother, easier, better with the oncoming winter, etc. Please let me know.
Would love to see Wokhan but it's probably not likely this time around.
I'm going to be heading on to Pakistan/India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka or thereabouts afterwards so any flight advice would be great as well.
