hello ! A friend of mine and I are planning a trip in Kirgyzistan- Kazakhstan - Uzbekistan and we wanted to go firt from bishkek (where we arrive) to Almaty and then to reach the charyn canyon and we wanted to get to Karakol.
We saw it was possible from Almaty to the canyon pretty easily, but to go from the canyon to karakol how should we do ?
Thank you very much !

From the canyon to kegen there are busses.
To the wet border you need to hitchhike or arrange a taxi, probably already in Almaty to take you to Karakol.
I meet several people who did it by hitchhiking / paying little money to the driver.
Walking is not a option over the border.
Greetings Koen

Hey Koen,
I wanted to ask you about the busses from Charyn Canyon to Kegen. How often do they run? And every day? At this point, I have arranged a pick-up at the Karkara border on the Kyrgyz side and I know you can get a taxi from Kegen to the border, but I am worried about the journey from Charyn to Kegen as I have only read about people hitching that part.
