Very helpful. Yep, money has a strange power to crack even the hardest bureaucracy.

Since I couldn’t find a full list of what Visatronix in Islamabad needs for an Indian paper visa, I went there today and got the info. And luckily AI could translate my photo of the paper to text, so here it is:
FOREIGN CHECK LIST FOR INDIA HIGH COMMISSION
1. Original Passport
2. Polio certificate
3. 02 Copies of Form ........ INDIANVISAONLINE.GOV.IN
4. 02 picture with white back ground (Same Picture must be uploaded in Form)
Format - JPEG; Size - Minimum 10 KB, Maximum 1 MB; The minimum dimensions are 350 pixels (width) x 350 pixels (height); Recent front facing photograph with white background and full frontal face (ear to ear to be visible) to be uploaded by the applicant; Do not crop the Passport Image to use it as your recent photograph; Upload clear front facing photograph with preferable white/light coloured background; The application is liable to be rejected if the uploaded photograph are not clear and as per specification.
5. Proof of Financial soundness: International travel card like / updated bank statement of last 3 month, not more than one month old)/ International credit card with running year endorsement in the passport.
6. Provisional Travel details along with itinerary.
7. Confirmation of Hotel Reservation in India or letter of invitation from friend/relative (with a copy of his/her Passport).
8. Proof of Profession: Certificate from the employer. In case of students, copy of Identity card from the educational institution is to be attached, for retired person need retirement papers.
9. A written request explaining the reasons for not applying for a visa from the concerned Indian Mission at the country of his/her origin.
10. Copy of Passport - entry date stamp page copy - Pakistani visa copies.
(For the ‘polio certificate’, this is asked bc pakistan is a high risk polio country. I asked my mum for a photo of my vaccination document from when I was a child, and heard from another traveler that such a document suffices for the visa. It’ll probably be followed up by an oral vaccination drop at the border.)
I was told it’s 31000 rupees, which is almost 105eu. I think they’re a bit too loose with their calculations.
Also the man said it’d take 2 to 5 workdays, ‘but it can take longer, all up to the Indian embassy’.
Luckily I was scouted as an extra for a pakistani filmseries by the broadcaster next door of the visatronix office, so that will pay for my visa costs .
Edit: got everything printed at a copyshop nearby and handed in everything. The total cost was 30090 rupees.

Re: Wagah Border (Lahore - Amritsar) PAK - IND
The polio-vaccinations last year was done at soem clinic not so far away from Visatronix, forget the name but i can check. In fact there is a guy who just writes a yellow carton with your name on, no questions asked at all.
And ofcourse, when you cross the border, the Indians dont trust the pakistanis and give you new polio-drops. Even when i told them i had already in Islamabad before, no way, the pakistani-ones not good, need indian drops was the answer. I really did get drops at some other governement-hospital where they also did covid-vaccinations (it was october 22). But to het the certificate i need to enter a pakistano website where you hardly get in without a pakistani id-card !! They taste like shit but take a bottle of water with you. Its all free of charge, in Islamabad and at the border !!

Hi folks,
I'm in Pakistan awaiting the India Paper Visa from the Islamabad embassy so I can cross Wagah.
Like others, I used the Visatronix service, but contrary to what I expected from reading reports here, they said the wait time was 10-15 working days and the cost has now shot up to 475,770 pkr!
I have a TCS visatronix receipt and they now have my passport. I have a deadline to reach Delhi where my flight home is booked, so it's obviously slightly terrifying that things are longer than I thought.
My question is: How can I check on the progress and where do I ultimately collect the passport, so I can be streamlined as possible?

Hi wwadhamm2,
Just wondering how this ended up progressing for you? My brother and I are travelling overland from Pakistan to India and didn't properly research visa requirements for the Wagah border before leaving home. We're hoping to get physical visas in Islamabad, but really don't want to have to wait for more than 5 days if possible. And was that price really more than 2500 AUD?!
Thanks heaps, Joe
