again - serious landslides in gbao:
http://news.tj/en/news/gbao-cut-other-p ... -mudslides
update:
and some details (in russian):
http://rus.ozodi.org/content/article/27732031.html
generally: the road kulab to kala-i-khumb is destroyed in many places (see photo in the article), people are blocked e.g. in khostav https://goo.gl/maps/NR3XEA2uEdr ), the road over khaburabot is blocked by screes - probably in dash-i-sher https://goo.gl/maps/vkmR1KjN8v22 , the tavildara bridge is probably also broken https://goo.gl/maps/6eJKWvLsEpm , the road in rasht valley is destroyed (so now the "karamik problem" has disappeared).
pamir is totally cut-off from western tjk.
heavy rains, hailstorms and even snowstorms are highly probable on next days.

Thank you Mazeno, I was also reading about it. I recommend Pecta Facebook page as best updated source of information.

Re: Pamir Highway landslide
Hi, the Tavildara bridge is gone. A British cyclist we spoke in Dushanbe saw it last friday.

Re: Pamir Highway landslide
We're in Dushanbe and the news here is that the southern route is open for cars. Trucks couldn't pass it yesterday. The northern route is still closed, the bridge near Tavildara is gone (13/05/16).

Re: Pamir Highway landslide
My 2014 Lonely Planet tentatively suggests that Dushanbe - Khorog will be much faster once road improvements are complete in 2016. Is there any sign of this coming to fruition? I certainly haven't seen any hard reports of a quicker journey (Google maps says the route is 9 hours, but I am very skeptical about that).

Re: Pamir Highway landslide
In the 22nd of May, the south road from Khorog to Dushanbe (through Kulob) was open. Even though the pass before Kulob was very rough, there were trucks on the way. Concerning the timing, it took 9h30 in a jeep without any break between Kalaikhum and Dushanbe, so it must be much longer if you start (or finish) in Khorog. There are 60km of brand new road between Kalaikhum and Kulob, built by Turkey and Iran, but that's all.
