Shemonaika border crossing (Russia-Kazakhstan)

Is the road, border or area open and accessible to foreigners? Is there danger?

No, bilateral, see http://caravanistan.com/border-crossings/kazakhstan/ and http://www.rosgranitsa.ru/ru/pp/622504/description

I just found this website, very useful. Will re-edit the Kazakhstan article according to the new info there.

Thank you! It seems the Russians are either wrong, or just talking about the railroad. We are talking about this one, right?

We crossed also by car in July. No problems, the most easiest crossing we've ever had.

Just crossed by motorcycle today. It didnt even take an hour and i got two stamps. So it seems like they registered me. Everyone was really friendly. They not even checked the stuff on my bike (Kazakhstan and Russian border side). The russians just asked me about weapons and the kasakhi guy asked me if i feel gud

Can someone maybe confirm if im really registered. Because they didnt put the second stamp on the bottom left side. I also didnt have to fill out any additional paper. But he scanned my passport and visa.
