Anyone planning a trip should assume the situation in coming weeks will be getting worse, not better. The virus however doesn't transmit well in hot weather, so it's reasonable though not certain to expect a resolution by summer, if not earlier.

Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan also suspended flights to China. I heard Qolma Pass in Tajikistan also remains closed.

Hi, does anyone know if the borders reopened with Kyrgyzstan? It was supposed to be closed until end of CNY on 31st of January. I'm starting my trip in Central Asi soon from China, but I'm affraid to get stuck at the border.

A coronavirus death has been reported in Turkmenistan, and there are other suspected cases. https://turkmen.news/news/v-turkmenista ... in-boleet/

Don't expect any sort of official confirmation, but expect the possibility that neighboring countries may believe the report and become even more restrictive with Turkmen border crossings.

February 2 report that Kyrgyzstan's borders with China are closed.

Remember that more and more places are banning entry to those who have been in Mainland China within the past 14 days and many flights out of China are being cancelled. Plan your exit carefully, and don't wait.

Dushanbe airport is sending anyone who has been in China to a quarantine facility for 14 days - regardless of citizenship and regardless of where the flight is from. A flight from Dubai to Dushanbe had Chinese diplomats who thought they were exempt. They were not: https://akhbor-rus.com/-p3720-162.htm

The direct flights from China are cancelled (that's well know), and now it seems that a connecting flight is not a way around this. https://akhbor-rus.com/-p3720-162.htm

Yes, March is too optimistic to expect a resolution of the travel restrictions.

To repeat, because it is important, if you are leaving China to just about anywhere, there is the risk of being banned or quarantined, and this risk is likely to increase in coming weeks.

So if you're now travelling in China, best to get out ASAP. And if you're not in China now, don't head there until the epidemic is resolved. The risk of getting ill may be low, but the risk of travel and other restrictions creating enormous havoc is very high.
