Yes quite curious how aeroflot is restarting its schedule. Russia already announced it doesn't allow any international air travel soon....
Also curious when i'm getting my refund from aeroflot... may take a while I think...

Thanks.steven wrote:Hi Robert, so far I do not have an answer to any of your questions. For now, Tajikistan is closed to foreigners, and I haven't heard anything about a possible re-opening.
Where is a good place for me to keep checkimg for any changes?

Re: Coronavirus border closures & re-openings
A good place to check is IATA's travel document repository: https://www.iatatravelcentre.com/intern ... 226297.htm
Mind you, it tells you what states are doing right now, less what they are planning to do. But, having said that, the 'planning' part is such a mess that, in my mind, it's not even worth considering.
I had 3x trips scrubbed between March and now and I've holidays again in September, where I hoped to go do some trekking in Kyrgyzstan. I'm 100% sure it won't happen. I also have some (fairly urgent) business things to deal with in Europe, but at the same time can't afford being quarantined by the UK government's stupid policy. Bottom line = I've all but given up on travelling this year. If it happens, it happens; if it doesn't, well it's a pity but here's to a better 2021. And let's hope we learn the lesson and stop eating poached wildlife.

I have some general resources in the coronavirus article. https://caravanistan.com/coronavirus/matt2matt2002 wrote:

If it's one country in particular you need, I suggest using Google News on search terms like "tajikistan coronavirus" "tajikistan quarantine" etc. in Russian with Google Translate. Or just do a google search, but under "tools", choose "past week."

Re: Coronavirus border closures & re-openings
Anyone know what's up with Azerbaijan border, especially land border with Iran, did they open anything a few days ago as posted here, or was it only for commercial traffic, not tourists?

Re: Coronavirus border closures & re-openings
There seems to be some credible news from Tajikistan. The country is easing some of the restrictions, no news about re-opening borders though

Re: Coronavirus border closures & re-openings
According to news reports yesterday Tajikistan is allowing flights to/from Uzbekistan amd Dubai on the 1st of July. Travellers must have a medical note flsaying they are COVID free. Not sure how that will practically work out, but will hear more in the next few days, I am sure.
