Other than the above anecdote, does anyone have any experiences to share about crossing back out of Georgia without taking the second test after arrival? The 2000 lari penalty is a hefty fine and I would be very reluctant to cough up that amount of money. How thoroughly do they check at the border? I'm biting my nails here after reading though all the resources I could find on the subject. Thanks, John

I'll be making this trip from Turkey to Georgia at the end of this month, glad to hear it's open.

I take it you visited Batumi. How was it?
