Border crossing reports: Tajen (UZ - KAZ)

Please read and post reports on the Tejen border crossing between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan below.

We summarize all info on the Kazakhstan border crossings and Uzbekistan border crossings pages.

Hi there all,

I'm Uzbekistan citizen planning a trip to Ukraine from Tashekent.

Does anyone have info on the Tajen border (extreme west of Uzbekistan)?
What are the opening hours?
Any nearby city to stop over between Nukus and Atyrau (both big enough cities - but 900+KM distance in between).

And any info on Astrakhan (Kazakh - Russia border)? Or Russia - Ukraine (Rostov-on-Don border)?

Any info is appreciated.

Beyneu is the city where people stop, and it has all conveniences. Tajen is a normal border crossing, lots of trucks. Open 9 to 5 I think, same for Astrakhan. They are just normal border crossings, standard stuff, that is why there is not so much info on them on the border crossing pages but they are crossed often by foreigners.

We are travelling with a car. Someone crossed recently the border from uzbekistan to kazakstan at Tajen west of uzbekistan ?
How is it ?

No problems at border crossing. Customs didn't even check my luggage and hotel registration cards. Before you get there you should prepare a copy of your passport and vehicle documents (if traveling by vehicle of course). No money paid on both sides of the border.
