Samarkand to Tashkent through Kazakhstan

Hi, I am planning a self-driving trip through Uzbekistan and I notice that to stay within Uzbekistan, there is a portion where we have to drive around the border with Kazakhstan.

As we are not Uzbek or Kazakh citizens, I am trying to find out if it would be easier to just cross the border into Kazakhstan and then back into Uzbekistan. Unfortunately the border crossing guide does not include this route so any information or advice would be appreciated. Would this be faster, or would the hassle not be worth the time?

Even assuming these borders are open to international passports, it's really difficult to imagine how it would be even theoretically faster to go through 2 international borders than to detour less than 10 km around.

Ah, so the hassle is not worth the time. Thanks! We were hoping there would be some fast track system specifically for travellers transiting from Samarkand to Tashkent or vice versa.

We thought it would be interesting to just drive through Kazakhstan for a short while since it was a shorter route and this is a part of the world we don’t go to often.
