Generic Advice for Border Crossings?

Postby elmini » Sat Mar 03, 2018 12:12 am

I'm a solo female and am planning on overlanding from Uzbekistan to China via Russia. I'm getting a little nervous about border crossings, I know each one will have their own quirks, but was wondering if anyone has any general tips that can make things run smoothly. (i.e. should I have a pretend wedding ring?)

Seriously, women have reported very little scrutiny when it comes to luggage inspection by putting things like feminine hygiene products at the top of their luggage. In general I think that you are much more likely to encounter problems from local men (in which case fake rings do help) than from border guards at busy, crowded border crossings.
