Driving Georgian Car to Turkey without Georgian ID

I was denied today trying to pass a the Black Sea border from Georgia to Turkey because, while my car is registered in my name, I do not have a Georgian resident ID card. I am American, but bought this car here, and went through the proper steps to make it legally mine. However, because my passport is not Georgian, my car is not allowed into Turkey. Has anyone had this problem and figured it out? Hopefully, as I don't know what to do. Thank you.

Try again at the other border Geo-TR, it might just work there. IMHO there is no such rule.

Hi,

I was wondering how you resolved this situation?

My boyfriend and I are Georgia now with a Kazakhstan car (legally and fully registered in my boyfriend's name), but as we're UK citizens (not Kazakh).

We've heard a couple of stories like yours but they've all been about Georgian-purchased cars and we are struggling to find information on whether our Kazakhstan registered car will be a problem to transit through Turkey.

Any knowledge you have and how you resolved your situation would be really helpful. Thank you!
