GBAO situation - 2014 [locked]

Definitely a NO on the GBAO in Bishkek, Kyrgysztan. Rang this morning to check. Lady does said maybe 2 weeks but has no clue either. She said we have to go to Dushanbe to get it.

Indeed, GBAO permits at embassies once again not given anymore. But, ppl have been succesfully getting GBAO Permits the last few days in Dushanbe, mostly with the help of local tour operators, it seems.

Just met a german couple who are travelling on a motorbike, they had no trouble to pass on the Pamir hwy, to be comfirm.......

I am going to apply my Taji visa in Tashkent, but is it possible to apply the GABO permit in Tashkent as well, if not, what should I do?

Can anyone recommend agencies doing this? What is the cost? And how long does it take to get it processed?

Is it possible to do it yourself with intermediate Russian?

Dushanbe stopped handing out GBAO permits today for the rest of the week so I doubt its possible to get one in Tashkent

Still possible to get GBAO Permits in Dushanbe, perseverance seems to be key.

Hi,

Today the tadjik ambassy in Tachkent Ouzbékistan could only provide visa but not GBAO permission saying the Pamir road was closed, but telling us to take a chance in duchambe without any garantee
Anyone who was there can give more info?

Got my GBAO permit yesterday in Dushanbe, but today a woman was denied and told "not until monday". So situation seems to change daily - if not hourly..
I didnt use an agency and a tour operator got a "no" yesterday, when I got mine.
