car rental in Aktau, kz?

I didnt have time for a Uzbek visa, so staying in Kaz... headed to Bishkek.

However it seems the detour will be too much to cover by bike. Considering renting a car instead of hitching or going by train. I'd be selfpropelled and free to decide stops etc. Taking a train or bus with a bike is usually a bit of a pain.

So... my question... can I rent a car in Aktau and hand it back a bit further inland? I'm probably looking to shave around 1000 km off the trip. Cost estimate?

My Google-Fu proved inferior in this case. :-\

Actually a train to Aktobe or a bit further down the line sounds like it would work. Anydirect trains from Aktau going towards Almaty... somewhere before Bajkonur perhaps?
