Current plan - suggestions, tips, advice, sights I might have missed, dos, do nots?

I'm currently in the Caucasus and will most likely be entering Iran from Kurdi Iraq in the next few weeks.
Was hoping to enter from Armenia but it won't be possible if I can't get a multiple entry Iranian visa in Yerevan.

So here's the plan so far.

If anyone has advice on rejigging the itinerary to make it work smoother, easier, better with the oncoming winter, etc. Please let me know.
Would love to see Wokhan but it's probably not likely this time around.

I'm going to be heading on to Pakistan/India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka or thereabouts afterwards so any flight advice would be great as well.

Hi,

I don't know anyone who works in Afghanistan who advises tourists to still do overland travel there. The last tour operator stopped after his van got blown up by a rocket - the tourists miraculously survived.

Not sure what your budget is - Wakhan corridor is expensive. The road from Naryn to Jalalabad could take some time to find a ride if you don't have the money to pay for one. It also closes in winter, so you might have to detour via Bishkek there.

I think there was a flight from Dushanbe to Islamabad but it seems cancelled - only direct flight now seems to go to Delhi. Since Afghanistan is an attraction, perhaps fly Dushanbe - Kabul - Islamabad with Kam Air?

Checked out the attack you mentioned. Yes, very fortunate. In contact with one of the tour operators on the security situation in Afghanistan now.

Yes, Wokhan is going to have to be next time or never unfortunately.

Flying into Islamabad will depend on timing for the visa - sending to London or Melbourne.
