India-Iran

Post by lucca12345 »

Hello Caravanistunners!

I travelled to India overland through Central Asia, Pakistan and China. In India I met a friend and I want to do the same with him the other way round.
But Pakistan is a pain in the ass, so we'd like to get to Iran by ship from India. Directly seems impossible...

But is there a possibility to get to Bandar Abbas, or anywhere in Iran from India?
For example over Dubai or Oman?
Thanks a lot in advance for the new section for ferries in the gulf!
But how to get to the gulf from India??

I really really don't want to take a plane, but anything else!

Thanks a lot for any help and have a nice day

Hi,

When have you done this trip through Pakistan?
Have you travelled with your own car?

There is no passenger service AFAIK so you need to get on a cargo ship. That's a matter of talking to the right people in the harbour, and waiting.

Well you would not be the first to go around Pakistan by ship. I heard of it before. Lot of hassle with the shipping, but people have done it, at least years ago. Hopefully you can find something on internet.
