Self driving to Kel Suu

Sorry for another post on this lake. Anyone know if it's easy enough to drive there or better to do a tour?

You can drive yourself but you need a permit.

Thanks for the response. We have applied for the permit through CBT Naryn, so just need to decide if it would be worth the money for their tour or to drive ourselves. We're renting a car through your website (many thanks for that), so I'm slightly inclined to think that we can do it. A girl in our hostel in Bishkek said she thought we'd be able to as she was surprised at how poor the quality of the car they were driven in on their tour was.
As long as the state of the roads is ok I guess we should be able to.

If you rented a jeep-style car (I don't think we rent out anything else) it will definitely get you there.

Just say to whoever you are renting from that you are going to Kel Suu and they will give you some tips.
