We took the bus in August from Bishkek to Tashkent. Departure in Bishkek is the Western bus station. We arrived in Tashkent in the bus terminal (at the Niyat hotel).
It is a long and not very comfortable ride. Especially the border crossings prevent you from sleeping. But it is relatively fast. Don't expect a bus with the same standards as on their website :)

Anyone know if this is likely to be running as usual during Nowruz, and if tickets can still be easily bought a few days before departure? Planning to go Tashkent-Bishkek.

June 2023: Tashkent to Bishkek via Bus

If you’re planning a trip from Tashkent to Bishkek, here’s a short trip report to guide your way:

Bus Schedule and Details:
There are two buses available daily for the Tashkent to Bishkek route. The buses depart at 18:00 and 20:00 from the Tashkent Avtovokzal, the main bus station. The bus is spacious with a 2+2 seating arrangement and has air conditioning. We opted for the 20:00 bus.

Ticket Purchase:
To secure our seats, we purchased our tickets a day in advance. Each ticket cost 261,000 UZS (approximately 22.70 USD).

Border Crossings:

1. Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan: The first border crossing took place at Gisht Kuprik (Гишт-Куприк), near Tashkent. We crossed this border around 22:00. Passengers had to disembark from the bus with their luggage. The process was relatively smooth and took around 2 hours for everyone to complete immigration procedures and reboard the bus.
2. Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan: The second border crossing occurred at KPP “Sypatay Batyr” (КПП “Сыпатай Батыр”) at 6:30. Again, passengers had to take their luggage and go through immigration. This process took approximately 1 hour and was straightforward.

Arrival:
We reached Bishkek’s “Western Bus Station” at 10:00, making the total journey time 14 hours.

Passports:
We traveled with Western tourist with French, Austrian and Canadian passport holders. Everything went smooth for all of us. Also locals got processed quite fast and efficient.

Overall, the journey from Tashkent to Bishkek by bus was relatively comfortable and efficient.

There appears to be a legitimate website to view bus schedules and purchase bus tickets. Interestingly, no caravanistan forum (that i can find) or other website provides reviews. The website is https://avtoticket.uz/ it is showing daily departure from Tashkent to Bishkek at 18:00 and 20:00 for 250,000 SOM. Has anyone used this website and successfully purchased and used the tickets it sells?
