Coronavirus border closures & re-openings

Astara border might still be open between Azerbaijan and Iran. I could not find news on its closure.

All Azerbaijan border crossing are working. At least now. And as I understood, they are not planning to close it. But your temperature will be measured on any border checkpoint.

Pegasus cancelled my flights to Tehran via Istanbul this morning, I was meant to fly out on Sunday. Means my Central Asia trip will be missing a country, but my Iran visa is valid until early May at least and I still have Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan planned.

Does anyone know if all the borders between Kazakhstan and China are closed ? Does anyone know if kirghiz and kazakh borders with China will stay closed in march ?

Turkish embassy in Azerbaijan: since 5pm of 23 of Feb Dilicu border crossing is closed (Turkey-Naxchivan/Azerbaijan)

To clarify what's happening on the Iran-Azerbaijan border, here's a local journalist:

Here is update on Bilesuvar and Astara checkpoints on Aze-Iran border. This is not official information. I've gathered the data from multiple sources on the ground:
- Azerbaijanis are not allowed to cross the border to Iran.
-Iranian citizens are not allowed to enter Aze.



-Incoming Azerbaijanis are taken to hospital immediately for the check up.
-Iranian citizens are allowed to cross the border to Iran, although most of them are not keen to do so.
- Aze allows cargo trucks (semis) bound to Nakhchivan to pass the border

But he gives no info on citizens of third countries. That is to say, can a citizen of a third country cross from Iran into Azerbaijan?

However, the plight of some kickboxers unsuccessfully trying to leave Iran via Azerbaijan doesn't bode well:

So basically it seems the border is only open to local citizens who wish to return to their home (Iranians back to Iran, Azeris to Azerbaijan). But I did find on person saying that a resident of Georgia was allowed through the border. No anecdotes from Europeans or Russians...

We just tried to cross from Marivan, Iran to Kurdistan.

The border still operates from trucks. Mainly Turkish and Iranian trucks are going in and out of Iran.

Iran let us pass without any hassle but Kurdistan didn't accept us.
We tried to discuss, telling them we only transist the country and we will be out in less then 24 hours. But no!
They got quiet angry and we turned back.

I know from a Turkish-Swizz couple who could enter Azerbaijan from Astara 2 days ago.

Turkish border is clowed.
Only Turkish people on foot can enter Turkey from Iran.

Is there an official notice anywhere for the quarantine in Kyrgyzstan? I would like to find more info but can;t see it on any government sites etc

Friend of mine is overlanding back to Europe, currently in Karimabad .... Due to be at the border within a fortnight.

There are rumours that it's closed?!

Can someone clarify?
