Tajikistan closes borders to citizens of 35 countries (coronavirus)

List of countries who citizens are not being permitted entry to Tajikistan:

China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Cambodia, the Philippines, Thailand, Nepal, Sri Lanka, India, Finland, Italy, Britain, Spain, Sweden, Belgium, Israel, Austria, Croatia, Switzerland, USA, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Iran, Lebanon, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Afghanistan, Iraq and Algeria.

I would expect this list to increase as other countries register more cases of coronavirus.

Selfishly, I hope this will ease off come late June, but I'm not holding my breath. Would folks here cancel reservations yet for summer or wait for a while? I'm tempted to wait it out, but am obviously concerned.

What an odd list. Some countries with just one confirmed case are on there. Some countries with 100+ cases and several deaths are not on there.

I would personally wait it out. Late June is 4 months away. That's a long time. Difficult to predict what will happen by that time.

I had been planning my own trip for mid June. So understand your situation.
Although 4 months away I suspect the virus ' situation' will drag on for many more months.
Feelings and thoughts go to the Tajikistan folks.
I am sure many will be affected by lack of tourism.

Talked to a border guard at oybek today...they are only refusing entry to Iran, South korea and Italian citizens.

Does this just affect entry via a flight?

Also the MFA said we needed to talk to the Ministry of health. The ministry of health said it only affects S. KOREANS, Italians, Iranians and afghan citizens.
