It is 7days (not working days) after you applieds... in teheran and pick up in teheranroro wrote:Thanks a lot for these infos and for the letter as well!
It sounds a good idea, I think.
Can you tell me where did you applied for your visas: In Teheran?
And if so, how long you're waiting for picking-up your visas?

Re: Turkmenistan transit visa refusals
We are a French couple and got our transit visa two days ago.
(We did not dare to ask more than 5 days, unfortunately :/ )
We mentioned on our letter that we travel with bicycle.
One Swiss man had his transit visa too the same morning.
Good luck

I made this topic unsticky as it seems the visa refusal story was just for about a week and everyone is getting their transit visa normally as before.

Re: Turkmenistan transit visa refusals
I asked for my Turkmen transit Visa, around one month ago in Ankara, and picked up in Tehran. No problem at all. You need entering and exiting countries visas when applying.
If you dont get a transit visa, you could get a tourist visa by hiring a trip through an official tour agency. The price will start around 100$ per day.
Cheers

Re: Turkmenistan transit visa refusals
Hi, just filling up my form for turkmenistan transit visa, point number 20, they ask for the type of transport, is it ok if i say that I am cycling ?
By the way, the link to download the form in the turkmenistan section is not working i think!
Cheers

Re: Turkmenistan transit visa refusals
It's ok to cycle, it's only Iran where you cannot say that you're cycling.
PS: thanks for the notice on the dead link (I should have learned my lesson not to trust embassy websites by now). It's updated, the form is now hosted on caravanistan.com.

Re: Turkmenistan transit visa refusals
Just an update on Turkmenistan transit visa applications...
We applied in Almaty on Monday 17th August and collected our 'application code' the next morning (Tues 18th). They would only issue Farab to Sarahs and told us it would take 10 working days (maybe less). It was fine to request to collect the visa in Tashkent.
We took a risk and went early to the embassy in Tashkent (Monday 24th August)- visa was approved and ready- 5 days transit Farab to Sarahs, $85 each (Britith Passport). Total processing time was 7 days (including weekend).
No problems, went at 9am this morning (were 2nd in the queue after putting our names on the list at 6am!) and collected at 4pm.
