You don't have much time to get a permit for Sarez and points west, and I would expect a checkpoint or two and very bad roads.

We don’t plan on visiting Sarez so didn’t consider getting the required permit, but what do you mean by ‘points west’? Which roads are you referring to?

Re: the zorokul permit, I’ve been in touch with the PECTA in Khorog who have confirmed that we can obtain permits with them on site.

Sorry, meant Zorkul and points East. Sounds like the roads around there can be in very poor shape and summer melt-waters can make things difficult.

Ah I see. So I’m optimistic we’ll be ok for the permit, but very aware - and wary - of the muddy and generally very poor road conditions around there and points east. Therefore we’ll only go if we are confident the conditions are good enough, and ideally if we can convoy with another 4x4.
