Try to keep in mind that fresh seafood is difficult to do 4000 km away from the ocean…
You will find lots of Japanese people at this authentic haunt with Japanese speaking staff and hostess. Great sushi, teriyaki. The menu is adapted to Kazakh tastes as they are ready to admit themselves, but if you crave for the real stuff, try asking for the сёку меню (定食メニュー), with dishes like sukiyaki nabe, shabu-shabu and otsumami.
2. Manga Sushi
Great little sushi place suffering from its popularity. Book in advance if you want a table, and don’t order in, unless you don’t mind waiting for 3 hours! So, customer service and time management is not up to standards, but the sushi is great and the prices are affordable.
Not a restaurant, Samurai Sushi only delivers at home. Big portions at small prices, the name to remember for order-in sushi.
4. Wabi Sabi
Part of a Russian chain, but not a terrible one. Nice classy interior, good waiting staff and a good selection of sushi, soups, and other Japanese dishes.
