Nur-Sultan Airport is a small, quiet, clean airport. There is little there to entertain you, the Food and Drinks selection is abysmal and there are none of the extra services frequent flyers have grown accustomed to from other airports, but it does have free wi-fi.
Although recently renovated, another airport will soon be built.
Attention! If you care more about the price of your plane ticket than your carbon footprint you might have an international flight connection that also connects internally, for instance Bishkek-Nur-Sultan-Almaty-Kuala Lumpur. In this case, you will have an issue if you are not visa-free in Kazakhstan since there is no transit zone from international to internal flights in Astana airport.
How to get to the city centre from Nur-Sultan Airport?
Transfer to the city is 2500-3000 tenge (around 20$). Look for official taxis outside such as Sary-Arka taxi and request a receipt.
There are 2 bus-stops outside, you can get to the city on lines 10 (to the train station) & 12. Buses often don’t stop at the nearest bus stop. After you get out from the airport, go right for about 150 meters until the next bus stop. 60 tenge for a ride. Buses operate from 6am until 11pm.
