Gudauri’s second hostel designed by riders for riders is the only budget accommodation available at the base of the gondola in New Gudauri, which is quickly becoming Gudauri’s main hub and is certainly the best location in the spring when the lower slopes have begun to melt.
This small hostel includes two common areas: one kitchen for guests and another living room with a projector. The staff does a great job of keeping everyone entertained, and activities are organized every day such as sledding, BBQ, ski movie showing, musical jam sessions, or avalanche safety courses.
The rooms are spacious with pretty standard beds but there’s no reason to spend too much waking time in them anyways. A large shelf of boot heaters will keep your ski boots dry at night and the in-house service center is a great place to repair your skis or board after a day of riding on Gudauri’s notoriously rocky slopes. The kitchen includes everything necessary and the cozy dining table is backed by a communal bookshelf and surrounded by snowboarding posters.
For the price of $20-30/night depending on the time of the season, this is the place for solo travelers or small groups who want to be located right in the center of Gudauri’s newest neighborhood. The only downside is that, unlike other hostels, this one doesn’t include meals. Luckily, there are two great restaurants and a supermarket within a three minute walk, and the biggest bar in Gudauri is located just downstairs.
