Day 1. Arrive Tashkent
Arrive Tashkent, welcome at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Sightseeing tour of Tashkent: Abdul Kasim Madrassah, Khast Imam Complex – a religious center of the city consisting of the Barakkhan Madrasah, Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum and the library of Islamic Literature with the Holy Koran Book of the VII century.
Visiting modern part of Tashkent by metro: Amir Timur Square, Applied Art Museum, Earthquake Memorial, Independence Square. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2. Tashkent – Nukus
Transfer to domestic airport for morning flight Tashkent-Nukus. Arrive Nukus, transfer to the hotel, leaving luggage. Drive to former fishermen’s village Muynak, which used to be situated on the shores of Aral Sea. Visit to Local History Museum. In the afternoon drive back from Muynak to Nukus. Overnight in Nukus.
Day 3. Nukus – Khiva
Breakfast in the hotel. Morning visit to the State Art Museum named after I.V. Savitsky, which hosts the world’s second largest collection of Russian avant-garde art and one of the largest collections of applied art of Central Asia.
Drive to Khiva and visit en route ancient fortresses of Khorezm – Ayaz Kala and Toprak Kala. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4. Khiva
Breakfast in the hotel. City tour in Khiva – inner town of Ichan Kala with Muhamad Amin Khan Madrassah, Kalta Minor Minaret, Kunya Ark, Muhamad Rahim Khan Madrassah, Juma Mosque and Minaret, Tash Hauli Palace, Islam Khodja Minaret and Madrassah, Shirgazi Khan Madrassah, Pahlavan Mahmud Mausoleum. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5. Khiva – Bukhara
Breakfast in the hotel. Drive outside Khiva to visit the archaeological monuments of Ancient Khorezm. In written sources of the Arab conquest period, Khorezm is called a country of “tens of thousands of fortresses”. This region is a real gem for archaeologists. In fact, today in the Khorezm region archaeologists have found dozens of ancient cities, ruins of former powerful castles and royal palaces. The most famous of them are Toprak Kala, Kyzyl Kala, Ayaz Kala (“Kala” is translated as a fortress.)
Even today, the colossal sizes of the ruins impress with its magnificence and power. Transfer to Urgench for flight Urgench-Bukhara. Arrive Bukhara, transfer to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6. Bukhara
Breakfast in a hotel. Full day of sightseeing in Bukhara – one of the most important stops on the Silk Road. City tour with visits to the Ark Fortress, Bolo Hauz Mosque, Samanids Mausoleum, Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum. Continue sightseeing on foot along the old town of Bukhara from Poi-Kalyan complex with Kalyan Minaret through orient bazaars with three trade domes of Toki Zargaron, Toki Sarrafon, Toki Telpak Furushon, Ulugbek Madrassah, Abdulazizkhan Madrassah, Lyabi Hauz complex, surrounded by ancient mulberry trees, restaurants and cafes. We will also see the sculpture of a folk hero Khoja Nasreddin. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7. Bukhara
Breakfast in the hotel. Visit to Chor-Minor (Four Minarets, Sitorai Mokhi Khosa – summer residence of the last Emir of Bukhara, Baghautdin Nakhshbandi Complex – a center of Sufism. Drive back to Bukhara. Overnight at hotel.
Day 8. Bukhara – Gijduvan – Samarkand
Breakfast and check out from hotel. Depart to Samarkand, en-route stop at Gijduvan – local center for ceramics. Later stop to see XII century sight caravanserai Malik Rabat and Sardoba. Arrive Samarkand. Overnight at hotel.
Day 9. Samarkand
Breakfast in the hotel. We will start sightseeing from Registan Square (which means “desert” in Persian) and three madrassahs (religious study centers) surrounding the square: Ulughbek Madrassah, Sher-Dor Madrassah, and Tillya-Kari Madrassah – covered with gold. Visit to Gur Emir Mausoleum (tomb of Tamerlane), Shakhi Zinda Necropolis.
Continue sightseeing with Bibi Khanym Mosque – built by Amir Timur (Tamerlane) in XV century and Siyab Bazaar. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10. Samarkand – Shakhrisabz – Samarkand
Breakfast in the hotel. Drive to Shakhrisabz – hometown of Tamerlane. In Shakhrisabz we will visit the magnificent Palace of Timur – Ak Saray. The palace is covered with beautiful blue, white and gold mosaics. Continue by visit of Kok-Gumbaz Mosque and Dorus-Saodat Mausoleum. Drive back to Samarkand. Overnight in Samarkand.
Day 11. Samarkand – Tashkent
Breakfast in the hotel. Continue sightseeing in Samarkand: Ulughbek Observatory, built in XV century by Timurid ruler and astronomer, visit to Excavation of an ancient city and museum of Afrosiab, and Tombstone of Saint Daniyar. The prophet Daniyar (Daniel) is revered by three world religions: Christianity, Judaism and Islam, and mausoleum is still a pilgrimage place for the followers of all three Abrahamic religions. Transfer to the railway station for “Afrosiyob” train, departing at 17:00. Arrive Tashkent at 19:10, transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Tashkent.
Day 12. Depart Tashkent
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the airport. End of the tour.
