Planning to discover the nomadic heritage of the people living along the Silk Road in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan or Mongolia? You must add a yurt-stay to your itinerary.

These nomadic people never built great palaces, or filled libraries with books. Instead, their culture comes bundled up in their habits, food, music, language, family traditions, etc. The yurt is the home of all these traditions and values. Enter, you are most welcome!

Ps: Kazakhstan no longer has a living nomadic culture. Yurt-stays exists, and good ones at that, but they miss an element of genuine cultural interaction.
