Barskoon to Bishkek public transport

I'm planning to get the 09:20 bus from Karakol to Barskoon and then a bus later that day from Barskoon to Bishkek. However, I can't find any info about direct Barskoon-Bishkek buses, will I need to return to Karakol first?

There are marshrutkas on the road along the South side of the lake, but my experience is that they are often full when they pass Barskoon, and they won't stop for you.

Thank you. I don't suppose you'd know if taxis would be available in Barskoon to take me to Bishkek?

Hitchhiking should work on that route pretty well (we had a car to Balykchy within half an hour from Barskoon). Expect to pay similar price as in marshrutka.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that - may have to get some hitchhiking practice in first!
