Currently safe to drive through Iran

Hello everyone,

This is our first post here so I would like to give a small introduction. We are two vets driving from Belgium to Australia with a VW Caravelle (self converted to van). We are currently in Istanbul to fix some things on our car.

We would need to drive through Iran in order to reach India as far as I know because China is still not (easily) accessible for foreigners. The problem is that I have a double nationality (Belgium/Iran) and with the current political instability I would rather choose to skip my home country unfortunately.

I would like to ask whether there is a different option to get to Pakistan/India (to bypass Iran). We would like to reach Nepal in some way. So does anyone now a way of shipping the car e.g. or has someone recently drived through Wakhan corridor? Other options are also more than welcome!
