How to book hotels/train/airplane in Iran

Hi!

I will be in Iran for few days (and in hurry ) in April and I need to understand the best way to book:

a) hotels in terhan (2d), shiraz (1d),Isfahan (1d), Mashhad (1d)
b) a train ticket Theran --> shiraz
c) a flight ticket Isfahan --> mashad

What do you suggest?

I suggest you get in touch with a travel agent

You can book train tickets through Iranrail - it is also a travel agent, though. Same for hotels, any booking site you find online is a travel agent, really, not an OTA platform. Calling or e-mailing hotels usually goes nowhere. It is the Persian way

Flights is the same thing, you need to use a travel agent.

Hi Solsticio,

this is ok advice for backpackers like yourself, but it is not the same for business travelers or people wanting to book a luxury hotel. In April, luxury hotels are booked out months in advance, mostly by Chinese tourists.

Since the OP said he was in a hurry, you can imagine he does not want to waste time looking for hotels.

Trains are also going to be booked out. Once again, a backpacker would say: then I will just take the bus or hitchhike. Not everyone is a backpacker though.

OK, I just assumed that this is not really a forum where people on business trips or people searching for luxury hotels end up. I might be wrong, of course.

Most guidebooks will give some contact data of hotels, so he can make reservations that way. Calling might be a bit expensive however. You will find a few on Booking, Expedia, etc., as well, I assume. Probably the most expensive ones.

My personal advice to ivo84 would be to skip Mashhad from the itinerary. Trying to do so much in just 5 days seems quite impossible and leaves you just a little bit of time in each town. Assuming that you are there for touristic reasons.

If you do want to go there, you can take the night train from Tehran. Saves you a hotel booking as well.

Actually, there is completely different
Alibaba has biggest share of buying tickets in flights-bus-train.
